Irene Wols started her bachelor ATLAS (technology and liberal arts and sciences) in 2017 at the University of Twente. In her third semester in ATLAS she pursued her interest in cell biology leading to her work on FGF2-SPIONs within the Translational Liver Research group. In September 2019, Irene did her minor at Waseda University in Japan in order to deepen her understanding of biomedical sciences. Currently, Irene is doing her bachelor thesis in the Translational Liver Research group, during which she is first continuing her work on FGF2-SPIONs. Afterwards she will be working on CCR2 antagonizing peptide to determine its effects on liver fibrosis.
